Equinix is the world’s digital infrastructure company, operating 240+ data centers across the globe and providing interconnections to all the key clouds and networks. Businesses need one place to simplify and bring together fragmented, complex infrastructure that spans private and public cloud environments. With Equinix Metal, customers can rapidly deploy automated single-tenant infrastructure and interact with 2,100 networks and 3,000+ cloud and service providers. Our global platform allows customers to place infrastructure wherever they need it and connect it to everything they need to succeed.

At Equinix, we help the world’s digital leaders scale with agility, speed the launch of digital services, deliver world-class experiences, and transform people’s lives. Our culture is based on collaboration and the growth and development of our teams.

We hire hardworking people who thrive on solving challenging problems and give them opportunities to hone new skills, and try new approaches, as we grow our product portfolio with new software and network architecture solutions. We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success.

What you would do

  • Drive execution of 2-3 major product areas, managing multiple teams
  • Closely collaborate with product management and internal customers across Equinix on requirements and schedule
  • Get the right people in the right seats to accomplish the team's mission
  • Build an R&D culture, bootstrapping new solutions or dependencies as needed
  • Foster an efficient build-it-and-run-it culture, blurring the lines between operations and development, reducing time to fix things that are broken
  • Engage the global Equinix community internally and externally. Much of the work of the team will be freely available to the world

Who you are

  • You've led orgs of 15-20 people for multiple years and understand the motions (preferably leading other managers, but not strictly required)
  • You have opinions about the technical details, and can lead by example, but your focus is primarily fostering strong leadership for your organization
  • You have a history of software development and operations at a senior level. You either learned to write code because you were tired of doing things by hand, or you learned operations because you had a passion for seeing your code come to life
  • You're an expert in some programming language. You need to be able to motivate engineers who are building production software
  • You make decisions with data when available, and push for making them available when they aren't
  • You enjoy communicating through written English. As knowledge workers, we are effectively teachers and historians
  • You're a servant leader, understanding that your team is successful because of you working to empower them and remove barriers
