Director, Business Operations

Sapphire is seeking a motivated individual to act as the Director, Business Operations across the business unit. Reporting into our VP of Business Operations, this critical role will drive how we scope, track, and exceed expectations on key business initiatives and transformational projects with an eye for building out and streamlining core systems in line with a continuously updated operating model.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent program management, strong communication skills, data analytics and systems experience as well as the proven ability to deliver above and beyond results consistently.

  • Support and execute on the long-term vision for the Business Operations function, ensuring all current and future operational needs are met, including operational infrastructure and resource planning
  • Support creation of frameworks and roadmaps for critical operational initiatives
  • Provide leadership and manage a core piece of the Business Operations team, with an emphasis on developing collaborative partnerships with stakeholders across the business
  • Provide centralized resources for systems, tools, and training to streamline efficiency and create a unified experience across teams
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems
  • Lead projects that cross disciplines to achieve full cross-functional support and delivery
  • Develop plans, priorities, and direct and support teams to achieve business objectives and deliverables for projects, strategies, and business imperatives that are cross-functional
  • Support new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and the use of resources and materials

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Analytical Thinking — capable of harnessing quantitative and qualitative data, you’re a born analytical thinker who has experience of designing and implementing frameworks to unstructured problems.
  • Problem solving — you are able to find innovative solutions to a wide range of business problems. Pro-activity is important but you also need to be a quick-learner, able to adapt and respond quickly to unexpected challenges.
  • Communication — strong communication and influence skills for engaging with the multiple stakeholders of the business, understanding their interests or concerns, and unifying them around a common goal for success.
  • Cross-functionality — a good understanding of the cross-functionality of business units – this will allow you to identify and prioritize areas for operational transformation, as well as create new business solutions.
  • Project Management — BizOps involves not only coming up with strategies but also executing them – here, project management skills will help you lead and negotiate with teams across the business, as well as deliver initiatives on time and within budget.
