Our headquarters are located in Palo Alto, CA. All positions are hybrid with regional offices located throughout the United States.
The Director of Creative Services is a multidisciplinary creative role responsible for the production of visual/creative/graphical content across a wide range of mediums and channels including digital, presentation, print, video, and exhibit assets. This role supports Cognoa corporate and cross-functional departments: including Marketing, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Corporate Communications, C-Suite Office, Product, and Human Resources. This position manages and supports the company’s design, visual and creative needs to ensure consistent development and implementation of corporate and product brand guidelines. This role supports effective communications with impactful, meaningful creative that connects with Cognoa’s broad external and internal facing audiences to accomplish communications goals across channels.
The Director of Creative Services supports and partners with Senior Director and cross-functional managers to:
- Guide, manage and effectively resource the development of creative, visual, graphical assets and materials for all company functions.
- Understand audiences and the communication goals of visual/graphic, multi-media, physical assets; helps to determine the most effective creative implementations and solutions across channels.
- Identify, manage, and collaborate with external resources/partners in development and implementation of creative strategies and assets.
Responsibilities
- Generate strong strategic design concepts that support communication goals.
- Produce presentation decks, comps, storyboards, and prototypes to visualize ideas.
- Take creative work from concept to design to final execution.
- Present creative work to team members/internal stakeholders.
- Oversees design and partners with cross-functional managers to build a cohesive look, maintain brand identity and creative voice across mediums.
- Collaborate with, lead, and manage multiple teams, both in-house and external resources to ensure consistent and high-quality creative deliverables.
- Work with team members, project management and cross-functional partners to shape roadmaps, requirements, and timelines, ensuring teams and projects are effectively supported, and ensure a smooth creative development process.
- Recruit and retain top design talent in line with business growth and company needs; identifies and selects external contract resources as needed.
- Serves as a corporate and product brand steward: manages design, typography, overall visual identity and creative strategy and branding guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in development of visual/creative/graphical content, preferably with an in-house marketing and/or agency creative team.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates an eye for detail, layout, and composition across both digital and print.
- Ability to create visual designs across a wide range of assets including digital, print, presentations, video, web, etc.
- Solid presentation design skills.
- Demonstrated experience collecting and synthesizing input from stakeholders and proposing creative solutions.
- Ability to manage diverse company initiatives and complex business issues.
- Ability to shift priorities quickly, work in a fast-paced and continually evolving environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication & collaboration skills.
- Experience with supporting and building a both corporate and product brands required, with multiple stakeholders / audiences.
- Experience with scientific and/or medical content a plus.
- Leadership presence and experience interfacing and influencing senior leaders.
- Expert in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat.
- Working knowledge of Sketch or equivalent web design systems.
- Bonus if experienced in video production, animation, and exhibit design.
- Experienced with various printing methods (offset, digital).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Work, SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Suite, etc.
