About the Role:

Creative vision:

  • Develop a northstar vision for design and user experience through an on-going process of relentless refinement and evolution.  
  • Be a thought leader and partner to product leaders on the future direction of our product, including vision, product strategy, product design, resourcing, and sequencing for how we’ll get there and how it coexists with our brand and drives our overall value proposition.
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into useful, customer-facing journeys and on site and in-app assetsEstablish user centered processes and practices and bring others onboard with your vision.
  • Set the bar for quality, ensuring designs meet standards set.
  • Serve as the primary voice of design inside and outside the company evangelizing success and articulating vision.  
  • Lead by example and roll up your sleeves from time to time.

What You'll Work On:

Management: 

  • ​​Oversee multiple projects and scale design resources accordingly, ensuring deadlines are met, your org is effective, and team members are set up for success by setting clear and measurable goals
  • Create an empowering, supportive work environment and demonstrate TaskRabbit’s core values.
  • Nurture individuals to help them realize their full potential, balancing candor and compassion when critiquing work. 
  • Work to define role levels and support team career development.
  • Identify and attract talent ensuring the team is always staffed with the right people at the right time.
  • Secure and champion tools that support the team in their work and manage project resourcing.
  • Manage the design budget and advocate for team needs during planning sessions.

Your Areas of Expertise:

  • 6+ years of leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership, including hiring and developing senior managers and individual contributors
  • 6+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content and user research teams
  • Experience with designing end-to-end flows and experiences within visual systems for our supported platforms
  • Senior people management, team development, recruiting and org building experience
  • Experience growing a strategic design practice within design teams
  • Organizational and analytical experience

Compensation & Benefits: 

At Taskrabbit, our approach to compensation is designed to be competitive, transparent and equitable. total compensation consists of base pay + bonus + benefits + perks.

The base pay range for this position is $180,00 - $252,000. This range is representative of base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, geography, and level.
