Editor, Vocabulary.com
IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a full-time editor to join our Vocabulary.com content team. In this role, you will create and edit educational materials used by students in Grades 5–12 and independent learners around the world. #LI-FA1
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Edit articles and blog posts for spelling, punctuation, grammar, style, and clarity #LI-REMOTE
- Edit materials that are used to teach English vocabulary to middle school, high school, and adult learners
- Ensure content adheres to IXL's writing guidelines and the Chicago Manual of Style
- Create vocabulary lists and collections that help users understand fiction and non-fiction books, prepare for tests, and more
- Collaborate with our team of writers, editors, and illustrators to create content that is fun, accurate, and vocabulary-level appropriate
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- BA/BS degree
- Professional editing experience
- Impeccable knowledge of English grammar
- Ability to adjust to in-house style guidelines
- Familiarity working with the Chicago Manual of Style
- Experience teaching English, ESL, or other closely related subjects is a plus
- Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of age groups
- Ability to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Can-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas and a strong attention to detail
