Job Description

This will be a part-time, remote role with a weekly commitment of at least 20 hours per week for the duration of the one-year contract, with potential to extend.

Freckle Education is expanding our English Language Arts offerings to include Writing skills practice in the furtherance of our mission of ensuring every student gets a world-class education. We are looking for a team of part-time ELA content writers to demonstrate their knowledge of literacy practice and instruction in order to craft engaging and authentic skills practice items for students in grades 2 through 8. As an ELA Content Writer, you will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and editing practice items that will help students develop key reading and writing skills aligned to state and national standards.

Crucial Functions & Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and edit ELA practice items for grades K-8 for a range of grade levels.
  • Collaborate with a team of educators to ensure the accuracy and alignment of practice items.
  • Use data and feedback to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of practice items.

Qualifications

ELA Content Writer Requirements & Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience teaching ELA for students in grades 2-8.
  • Experience crafting curricular content a bonus
  • In-depth knowledge of state and national ELA standards.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Proficiency with G Suite applications and willingness to learn new tools.

Compensation: $22.00 hourly
