Who we are

Maestro is a learning innovation company. Our purpose is to do good in the world by inspiring positive change through better learning experiences driven by creative strategy, design, and technology. Maestro creates learning that empowers and inspires. We hire talented humans who are aligned with our purpose and truly care about the needs of our clients and everyone around them.

Who you are

You know that good design is critical in creating a great learning experience and you’re an expert with industry-leading authoring tools. You may even be a seasoned Instructional Designer, but your heart lies with the design and layout of eLearning courses and vILT (this role is not focused on writing courses or vILT). You’re detail oriented with an exceptional eye for design. You don’t just know your way around authoring tools, though; you also have experience stretching these tools to their limits in order to create well-designed courses. You’re a great communicator, capable of, and comfortable with, presenting and explaining your work to project teammates in a clear manner. You consider yourself a pro with authoring tools, specifically Articulate Rise and Storyline 360, and you're able to create assets and imagery using Adobe Creative Cloud programs like Illustrator and Photoshop, and if you have experience working in Figma, that’s a plus—it’s our preferred design tool. You have experience working as a freelancer, which enables you to be flexible with the ebbs and flows of custom projects. When it comes to your work, you’re a self-starter who is able to work independently, you search out answers to your questions, and you execute with exceptional quality.

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking storyboards written by our Instructional Designers and creating learning experiences and eLearning courses in Articulate Rise or Storyline 360, Google Slides or Powerpoint
  • Working closely with a Lead Designer and having open communication and weekly check-ins with them and additional project team members
  • Implementing revisions to your visual design based on constructive feedback from other project team members and considering how those revisions may impact the entire learning experience
  • Managing your time in order to meet project milestones and deadlines for your projects
  • Taking ownership of your tasks and keeping the project team updated on progress through proactive communication

Talents we’re looking for

  • Prior experience in eLearning visual design
  • A digital portfolio showcasing beautiful courses and a passion for design
  • Experience in the design field
  • A strong design sense around branding, interaction, and user needs
  • Experience using eLearning authoring tools like Rise 360 and Storyline 360 by Articulate
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud programs, specifically Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Excellent time-management and communication skills
  • Comfort using Google Workspace, Powerpoint, and other digital collaboration tools
  • An average of 20-hour a week availability when active on projects
  • Availability during EST business hours preferred
  • Prior agency experience is a plus
  • Bonus if you have a background in graphic design
  • Bonus if you have experience using Figma

The perks

  • Hourly rate based on experience and talent
  • Opportunity to be considered for additional contract work
  • Opportunity to work on projects for brands you probably know and love
  • Opportunity to work as part of a fun, collaborative, and creative team
  • Remote work
