Key Qualifications
- Strong expertise in embedded systems with focus on audio and real-time performance
- Proven track record in shipping products built around modern SOC (system on chip) architecture
- Ability to identify tradeoffs between performance, power, latency, and know how to optimize system designs to meet requirements
- Solid EE fundamentals
- Good understanding of audio signals (formats, interface types, sampling theory, basic DSP)
- Working knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity in constrained systems
- Working knowledge of DC power conversion and Class-D amplifiers
- Proficiency with Matlab, Python, SysML, or similar modeling tools
- Experience with wireless and/or networking technology a plus
- Embedded programming skills a plus.
Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, embedded system architect who is passionate about audio technologies and pushing boundaries on audio performance in consumer products. In this role, you will work at the system level to produce a clear definition of technical requirements and how they support the required user experience. You will create and maintain system-level block diagrams. You will drill deep into specific areas, while relying on partner teams to deliver pieces such as transducers, silicon, software architecture, and algorithms. You enjoy “connecting dots” and leveraging the work of others while identifying and addressing gaps that warrant new invention or problem solving. This cross-functional role requires excellent interpersonal skills and proactive collaboration across multiple partner teams on a large project. You are curious minded, always seeking to learn while offering your expertise to teach and help others.
Education & Experience
BS/MS/PhD in relevant field (EE, CS. Computer Engineering) 5+ years HW development engineering in a team environment Successfully shipped one or more consumer or industrial products involving audio

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,000 and $278,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
