Blue Mantis is seeking an Endpoint Engineer to join our Endpoint Operations Team. As an Endpoint Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the stability, performance, and security of desktop systems. You will be responsible for the timely identification, testing, and deployment of patches and updates, minimizing vulnerabilities and ensuring the seamless operation of our clients' desktop infrastructure. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Patching and Endpoint Protection Management: Plan, execute, and manage the patching process for desktop systems, including operating system updates, application patches, and security fixes.
  • Patch Testing: Evaluate patches and updates in a controlled environment to ensure they do not disrupt desktop functionality or introduce conflicts with existing software.
  • Vulnerability Assessment and Remediation: Monitor security bulletins and vulnerability reports, staying informed about potential threats and their impact on desktop systems.
  • Patch Deployment: Coordinate and execute the deployment of approved patches and updates to desktop systems, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.
  • Asset Management: Maintain client assets (add, remove, troubleshoot agent issues) within the endpoint management applications used by the EndOps team. 
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of patching activities, including schedules, test results, and deployment logs.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that desktop systems are compliant with security and regulatory standards and generate reports for management and compliance purposes.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for patch management to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the IT team, system administrators, and security professionals to coordinate patching activities and address security concerns.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • 2-3 years of experience in an Endpoint Engineer role.
  • Familiarity with Endpoint Protection platforms (ex. Sophos)
  • Familiarity with Endpoint patching platforms (ex. ManageEngine Endpoint Central)
  • Strong background in MAC OS and Windows Operating systems
  • A+ and/or Security + Certifications (nice to have but not required).
  • Familiarity with ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Sophos, Addigy, and Intune
  • Be a self-starter and take initiative.
