Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a team of engineers in building an awesome product at scale. You'll get the opportunity to manage and mentor engineers and team leads, while helping grow the team and shape engineering strategy. What you'll do:

  • Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution while fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Collaborate with the engineering management team to develop and execute a technology vision and strategy in alignment with the company's goals and objectives, staying ahead of industry trends and identifying opportunities for technological advancements.
  • Drive agile process management within the team, implementing and improving agile methodologies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality of deliverables.
  • Champion tactical areas of concern on the engineering team such as performance, accessibility, and community best practices in our code base and oversee the management of technical debt, SLOs, and code quality on the team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, design, and other stakeholders to bring high quality projects from conception to production.
  • Define and track key metrics to measure engineering team performance, product quality, and project success, leveraging data-driven insights to continuously improve processes and drive results.
  • Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering department, encouraging creativity, knowledge sharing, and the exploration of new technologies and tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in agile methodologies, engineering management, and software development, and incorporate them into the team's processes and strategies.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating engineering initiatives, progress, and challenges to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Recruit and hire new engineering team members.
