An overview of this role
As a manager of the team responsible for GitLab's IDE (Integrated Development Environment) project, your role would involve overseeing and guiding a talented group of engineers, designers, and product managers. You would be responsible for setting strategic direction, defining project goals, and ensuring that the team is aligned with GitLab's vision for the IDE.

What you’ll do
- Build, mentor, grow, and lead a team of engineering professionals
- Drive the technical roadmap in collaboration with multiple stakeholders
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and resources needed across complex initiatives
- Use data to make decisions and influence your own team and stakeholders
What you’ll bring
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills
- The ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical people
- Experience with navigating complex projects that have a business-wide impact
- The ability to oversee multiple projects touching multiple teams in a data-driven environment
- Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails.

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
Colorado/Washington pay range
$128,800—$248,400 USD
California/New York/New Jersey pay range
$128,800—$276,000 USD
