An overview of this role

As a manager of the team responsible for GitLab's IDE (Integrated Development Environment) project, your role would involve overseeing and guiding a talented group of engineers, designers, and product managers. You would be responsible for setting strategic direction, defining project goals, and ensuring that the team is aligned with GitLab's vision for the IDE. 

Your leadership would extend to resource allocation, prioritizing tasks, and fostering collaboration among team members. Additionally, you would work closely with stakeholders to gather input and feedback, and your role would be instrumental in making strategic decisions to enhance the IDE's features and user experience. Your management skills and strategic insights would play a crucial role in driving the success and innovation of GitLab's IDE.

  • Build, mentor, grow, and lead a team of engineering professionals

  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills

  • Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails.

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.

Colorado/Washington pay range

$128,800—$248,400 USD

California/New York/New Jersey pay range

$128,800—$276,000 USD
