Engineering Product Manager
Do you want to work for a mission-driven non-profit, creating software and insights tools to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and help millions of coffee farmers out of poverty? Enveritas is a 501(c)3 non-profit and Y Combinator-backed startup looking to hire for our Engineering and Data Group.
We are looking for two engineer product managers with extensive professional experience in software startups and interest in mission-driven organizations to join our Engineering Product Team on a remote, full-time basis. These positions are open globally, based on locations supported by our EOR partner, Deel. You can learn more about these roles at https://www.enveritas.org/jobs/eng-product-manager/
About Our Engineering & Data Group
Our Engineering & Data Group is a quirky, talented, and humble group of about twenty with diverse backgrounds ranging from journalism to academia to international industry. We are responsible for producing the tools and platforms that support our Operations Team in gathering insights about sustainability aspects of smallholder farming in thirty countries, and for the deliverables that our Partnerships and Impact Teams need for communicating those insights in actionable ways for external stakeholders.
The Engineering Product Team is responsible for clearly defining the needs of our consumers, internal to Enveritas and external, and translating those needs into discrete, actionable pieces of work to be collaboratively prioritized with the rest of the Engineering & Data Group. As a new team, formed due to recent growth in the group, we are eager to improve the ways that our product practice runs, knowing that the key is in developing compelling product visions and strategies to execute on that vision, and then guiding the day to day tactical work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Setting the strategic processes by which we identify and execute on engineering and data products that deliver impact for smallholder farmers, insights for clients, and solutions for our Operations Team.
- Communicating with internal stakeholders to focus vision and manage expectations around potential future products and in-development projects.
- Working closely with the Design & DataViz Team to develop and deliver product specs for engineers and data analysts.
- Managing the craft and tactical work of product management, including building and updating six-month roadmaps in collaboration with Impact, Ops, and Partnerships teams; as well as managing project meetings to see products through to delivery.
Qualifications
- A keen sense of how to introduce product practices into a growing organization.
- Extensive professional experience as a product manager in multiple software engineering environments, preferably in startup or mission-driven organizations.
- Skilled with product management tools and relevant platforms (Github; design platforms like Figma, Miro, Sketch, InVision).
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, especially in an organization where most colleagues are not accustomed to engineering startups.
