Job Description
U.S. Bank is going through a major technology transformation. As part of the transformation, Enterprise Architecture (EA) is playing a pivotal role to be the trailblazer, guide, mentor, and coach. One of the most important initiatives in EA is to communicate to its clients such as application teams. Target state architectural design guideline, process re-engineering, and other SDLC guideline are ever changing and evolving. We need to provide a one-stop shop, dynamic and real time feedback and always up-to-date information. Stalled information is more dangerous than no information at all. To achieve the goal of ever-green guide, it is important to have clear and effective communication/information through a well-designed EA portal and other channels.
We are looking for an experienced technical writer who can lead the content creation. As an ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly technical field, such as software development, computer science, or engineering. Your ability to evaluate and analyze complex information is second to none, and you have a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand. You will work with all EA pillars to understand and prioritize what information needs to be created and how to communicate in ways that are best to be understood and utilized by our customers.
Responsibilities
- Independently work with all EA leaders and team members to prioritize content that need to be created and communicated.
- Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write content and documentation for EA organization
- complex information into simple, polished, and engaging content
- Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content
- Obtain a deep understanding of EA visions/plans/guidelines to translate
- Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights language that sets our users up for success
- Work with UX designer where applicable to develop easy to use UI and workflow
- Evaluate content and develop innovative approaches for improvement
- Work with stakeholders to identify all documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage
- Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational and legal standards, and allow for easy data migration
- Develop content in different mediums to maximize usability and fulfill accessibility requirement
Skills and Qualifications
- 2-4 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
- Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Experience working with engineering to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
- Has experience with technology transformation
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization
- Firm understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) and Enterprise Architecture

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $112,880.00 – $132,800.00 – $146,080.00
