Role Description
As the studio’s External Art Manager, you will be the bridge between the studio game team and the external art teams. Maintaining and managing the relationships and pipelines with our external partners, you will be responsible for reviewing art assets, providing feedback, and ensuring high quality assets are delivered on schedule. You will be a critical part of the flow of art into our game.
This role can be done remotely throughout North America or in-office either in BC or Alberta, as part of our flexible location model.
Responsibilities
- Schedule art content in collaboration with internal art leadership and production
- Build and maintain a cohesive understanding of our art direction and asset pipelines to be able to effectively and confidently review assets, solve and anticipate problems, and communicate feedback
- Implement assets in engine to review technical requirements and artistic quality
- Provide clear and concise technical and artistic feedback to external artists
- Manage external team schedules and ensure they are in sync with project milestones
- Act as a key communicator, bridging the internal art teams with external partners
- Business development and relationship management
- Ensure external teams have all the information they need to produce art in line with the game vision
- Build and maintain an inclusive work environment between internal and external teams
- Identify areas where we would benefit from outsourcing and proactively research additional external partners
Qualifications
- 5+ years of project or team management related to art teams within game development
- Experience working as a game artist, Environment or Generalist artist is a plus
- Proven ability to mitigate risk with scope and timelines
- Expert in JIRA and Excel
- Experience with Unreal Editor is a plus
- Experience with other creative production management software such as ShotGrid is a plus
- Full professional proficiency in English is required, working proficiency in other languages could be a plus
Base Salary Range:
- $98,000 - $143,000 CAD
