Remote, North America (East Coast)

As an individual contributor reporting to the Sr. Manager, Field Communications and Content, you will be responsible for managing communication programs and initiatives that inform and enable Field sellers with crucial information for their roles.

An overview of this role

In this role, you will partner with groups across the business – from Product Marketing and Management, Corporate Communications, Field Security, Support, Customer Advocacy and more – to support initiatives that impact the Field by providing communications guidance and support. You will also maintain regular communication programs that help amplify and reinforce key messages.

What you’ll do  

  • Manage effective Field Communication strategies and tactics, including, but not limited to, newsletters, videos, memos, presentations and more.
  • Maintain regular communications programs including weekly and monthly newsletters and support for the GitLab monthly release.
  • Support the Field Communications announcement calendar, working with DRIs across the business to triage requests and advise on communication approach and timing.
  • Foster strong partnerships with cross-functional teams such as Field Enablement, Product Marketing, and others for aligned content and communication delivery. 
  • Support senior team members where needed on company initiatives that impact Field teams.
  • Champion efforts to improve Field Communications via GitLab’s handbook-first approach to learning and development.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for soliciting feedback from GitLab Field team members to inform communication priorities and requirements.
  • Assist in the communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership as needed.
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed.

What you’ll bring 

  • Experience in copywriting and editing
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
  • Excellent team player and ability to effectively collaborate with others
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail needing minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of Google docs; photo and video-editing software is a plus
  • Proven experience as a communications specialist, preferably with tech B2B sales audiences
  • Proven experience developing and executing effective sales newsletters is a huge plus
  • Experience with a marketing/communications platform (examples: Staffbase, Mailchimp) is preferred
  • Experience in web design and content creation is a plus
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle, DevOps, and/or open source software is a plus

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.

Colorado/Washington pay range

$67,200—$129,600 USD

California/New York/New Jersey pay range

$67,200—$144,000 USD
