Job description

As the Finance Controller, your responsibilities encompass examining and evaluating accounting and finance processes. Your primary objectives involve ensuring compliance with regulations, fine-tuning reporting documentation, and validating the integrity and precision of financial operations. Additionally, you play a pivotal role in safeguarding organizational assets and crafting streamlined business processes for recording revenues, costs, and related balance sheet entries.

Day-to-Day

Month-End Financial Close:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate a smooth month-end close.
  • Conduct a thorough review of expenses and generate management accounts (P&L and balance sheet), integrating financial data into comprehensive models.

Accounts Management:

  • Oversee accounts payable processes to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Manage the processing of employee expense claims and conduct regular cut-off assessments.
  • Prepare weekly supplier payment runs for approval.

Treasury Oversight:

  • Efficiently manage and optimize cash flow across multiple bank accounts.
  • Monitor payment terms, forecast future cash flow, and optimize cash-on-hand.

Tax Coordination:

  • Coordinate VAT and income tax returns in collaboration with external financial experts.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Provide continuous reporting and ongoing analysis of business performance, with a focus on cost analysis.

Annual Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist the FP&A team in the preparation of forecasts and budgets by producing in-depth financial models.
  • Facilitate the development of a minimum lovable product (MLP) for development.

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee relevant contracts and actively participate in negotiations with suppliers.

Job requirements

  • You hold a University degree/Master's in Finance or Accounting.
  • You bring around 5 years of finance operations experience, demonstrating a solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • You possess strong analytical, quantitative, and research skills.
  • You excel in proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets.
  • You are fluent in English & Dutch
  • You are detail-oriented with a focus on continuous learning and improvement.
  • Your strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills set you apart.
  • You feel comfortable interacting with senior-level business staff and resolving competing priorities.
  • Your project management skills would be a valuable addition.
  • Your experience and knowledge in core financial skills, along with understanding specific operational areas within a SAAS/B2B Company, are highly valued.
