About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing regulatory reporting, taxation, and accounting policies, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations while optimizing our financial processes.

What You'll Do

Regulatory Reporting:

  • Manage the preparation and submission of all required regulatory reports
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements set by various regulatory bodies
  • Stay updated on changes in regulatory reporting standards and implement necessary adjustments

Taxation:

  • Oversee all aspects of corporate tax planning and compliance
  • Manage the preparation and filing of tax returns
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position
  • Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as needed

Accounting Policies:

  • Review and update accounting policies and procedures in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Continuously review and update accounting policies to reflect changes in regulations and collaborate with external auditors
  • Facilitate new product rollouts by researching accounting standards as applicable and advising management on the accounting implications of new product lines

Equity and Options Accounting:

  • Oversee the accounting for stock options and equity compensation plans in accordance with relevant regulations
  • Prepare and review financial statement disclosures related to equity compensation

What You Need to Bring

  • CPA designation, and at least 3 years of post qualification experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and relevant tax laws and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise in corporate tax management and equity compensation accounting
  • Audit experience at a Big 4 firm 
  • Experience in the Financial Services sector
  • Experience with Netsuite and Carta

Compensation at KOHO is determined through various factors including but not limited to: comparable salary market data within Canada, technical skill assessment, a holistic view of previous work history, and internal pay equity with other KOHO team members.

Target Base Salary Range

$100,000 - $120,000 CAD
