The Opportunity

Our location in Lake Bluff, Illinois, currently has an opportunity for a Supervisor Shared Services

What You Will Work On:

Abbott is seeking a Supervisor Shared Services that will be responsible for managing the reporting of product level intercompany and third-party sales activity with an annual P&L transaction value of $6 billion and balance sheet value of $1+ billion. This role supports product sales reporting for > 100 Abbott affiliates across legacy Abbott divisions. This position ensures all sales, cost, and unit data are reported accurately and supplied to downstream Corporate/Division systems that require the data for financial reporting or forecasting and analysis. The Supervisor is responsible for the Sales Reporting Systems and the data provided to downstream applications from both a system and data perspective.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the monthly consolidation and reconciliation of product level sales reporting:
  • ADD, AMD, APOC, and ADC sales, cost and margin data into the Financial Margin System (FMS) in accordance with D.5.6/D.3.7 and H.5.6/H.3.7 policies.
  • Feed and tieout downstream Corporate/Division systems such as Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and TM1
  • Partner with legacy Abbott international affiliates to troubleshoot issues with data or systems
  • Provide sales, cost, margin reports and analysis to Margin team, Affiliates, Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Division personnel
  • Backup the Manager Accounting for AN, EPD, AV product level sales, cost, and margin data into the Sales Consolidation Reporting (SCR) in accordance with D.5.6/D.3.7 policies, run SAS jobs, and the tieout of downstream systems such as HFM, margin systems (TCGM), and Enterprise Information Management Solution (EIMS)
  • Maintain the inventory (FMS) and fixed assets (SEAS/NAS) margin subledgers and partner with US CFS team for reconciliation to HFM
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors for SOX and other audit issues
  • Systems support
  • Subject Matter Expert on FMS and SEAS systems for maintenance, support, testing, and interfacing with IT
  • Support SCR system maintenance, support, testing, and special data requests with IT
  • Support process and system changes for One Margin Project, including Project Catapult go live and expansion to other ERP systems
  • Maintain master and referential data
  • Setup and maintain products for Abbott Nutrition (AN) and Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD)

Education and experience you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Computer Science strongly recommended
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Accounting/Systems required
  • Experience in the following:
  • Knowledge in computer programming – languages used are SAS & SQL
  • Experience with Mainframe JCL, IBM AS400 Operating Commands/Utilities
  • At least 3 years supporting Consolidations, Reporting, and/or international operations:
  • Ability to quickly understand complex financial accounting/reporting systems
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple and complex tasks efficiently
  • Microsoft Office Products including MS Access
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Affiliate, Area and Division management at all levels
