About the Role and the Department
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Operations Analyst to join our finance team at Catchafire. The Financial Operations Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing financial data, managing financial processes, and supporting operational efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Accounting
- Month-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and posting journal entries
- Preparing and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements
- Account Receivables and Account Payables
- Manage invoicing and billing
- Financial reporting
- Support the Director of Finance in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and documentation for tax and audit filings
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to internal and external stakeholders
- Budgeting
- Support the development and monitoring of annual budgets
- Track and report on budget performance, including variance analysis
- Assist departmental managers in managing their budgets and expenditures
- Operational Efficiency:
- Streamline financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial operations and implement best practices.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational performance.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls.
- Assist in the preparation of audit, tax, and regulatory filings.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks to protect company assets.
- Project Support:
- Assist in financial projects, providing data analysis and insights.
- Participate in system implementation and upgrade projects to enhance financial operations.

Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA or bookkeeping certification) is a plus.
- Minimum: has goals or is intending to become a CPA
- Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, operations, or a related field.
- Experience with financial software (QBO, Bill.com, Rillet, Brex or equivalent) is preferred.
- 501(c)(3) accounting experience is a plus
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, particularly Excel and Sheets (advanced functions).
- Other Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
Compensation & Benefits
- The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience and geography dependent - $59,000K - 65,000K
- A fully remote work environment with a one-time work-from-home stipend to help you set up your space
