Job Overview

Financial management is crucial to the performance and success of any company. The roles and responsibilities of the Coursera Finance team include accounting, financial reporting, analysis, planning, budgeting, and compliance. Problem solvers at heart, this team works to fuel Coursera’s growth by developing creative solutions in response to accounting and finance challenges.

At Coursera, our Finance team supports our internal partners to maximize shareholder value. We are looking for a talented and innovative Finance Manager to join our team. The Finance Manager, FP&A will support the Director of Finance and collaborate with our global finance team in the US. You will manage successful budgeting and forecasting processes across the Cost of Revenue and Operating Expense side of the organization, deliver strategic & valuable insights, and help scale our organization. 

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with our Content and Credentials organization to manage headcount, planning and commissions expenses
  • Partner with accounting and operations to successfully close the books on a monthly basis. Support monthly and quarterly operational reviews and business deep dives
  • Support improvements to forecast/planning processes and systems to streamline efficiency
  • Support the corporate finance team in providing financial reporting, analysis, and commentary to important partners including Coursera’s board, management team, and investors.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive, relevant experience in FP&A, and/or corporate finance & strategy experience in a corporate environment in the technology space
  • Prior experience supporting OPEX expenses and partnering with business owners on headcount, consulting, contract and related expenses
  • Experience supporting complex workstreams and cross-functional efforts such as managing a yearly planning process
  • Excellent proficiency in building and understanding financial statements, accounting, and corporate finance concepts
  • Familiarity with financial planning processes and business systems such as NetSuite, Planning Systems like IBM TM1, Oracle Essbase and/or Adaptive Insights
  • Experience with processing large data sets, using SQL, Looker
  • Demonstrated history of anticipating business needs and being a thought leader, and managing multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and communicate with all levels of the company

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field 
  • Experience with IBM Analytics (Looker is a plus)
  • Experience in enterprise SaaS technology and/or consumer internet industry
  • Intellectual curiosity, agility to navigate ambiguous circumstances, strategic thinker, strong writing and presentation skills

Compensation

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $104,550 to $150,650 for all US candidates. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
