Freelance Editor (US English)
Job description
Wordbank is seeking Freelance Copy Editors for an exciting new project helping our client edit AI generated prompts and responses.
Job description:
Our client is a company that helps AI firms to train their Large Language Models, which in turn power AI tools like ChatGPT. To do this, they work with human experts to provide high-quality, well-written answers to a wide range of prompts, training the AI to respond in a more human way.
The current project they’re working on covers a range of fields:
- Formal science
- Natural science
- Medicine
- Humanities
- Retail
They have teams of expert in-house writers who create the responses to the prompts in these fields. However, these experts often struggle to present the information in an easily accessible and digestible way. They want to work with editors, who can edit the prompt responses to make sure they read well.
Areas of specialization:
Although the content covers specific fields like science and medicine, there is no requirement for the editors to have a specific specialization in those fields.
All the information required will be provided in the existing prompts and context – the task of the editor is to simplify and make sure it reads well.
It’s more important that the editors be experienced, with close attention to detail, than that they have specific industry expertise. Generalists are absolutely fine.
Rate:
The budget would be 20 EUR per hour (or the equivalent in your currency)
We want to work with editors on a basis of 20-25 hours per week for the next couple of months (at least to the end of June, if not longer).
Assessment Criteria:
- Ability to describe a few editing projects (while respecting NDAs)
- Complete a short test
Wordbank is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
