Full-Stack Staff Engineer
We're on a mission to scale personalized, coordinated care to everyone. Today, care coordination is a benefit available only to a select few, the most complex 1%-2% of patients, even though 60% of Americans live with at least one complex or chronic condition.
The result is health inequity - patients and their loved ones are left to fend for themselves in a confusing, highly fragmented health system. We are building disruptive technology that will cause a paradigm shift in virtual care.
We are backed by top tier investors bridging both technology and healthcare including Maverick Ventures (investors in Cityblock, hims & hers, Devoted Health, One Medical). Find more info on our Series A here.
The Role
We’re looking for a product-minded founding full-stack staff engineer. You will help us build a living, learning healthcare platform that integrates patient data from disparate sources, assists clinicians in care coordination, and unleashes the power of machine learning to enhance care pathways for patients facing significant health challenges.
Our engineering team must build fast, assistive, and intuitive user experiences for end users atop an increasingly powerful ML care recommendation engine and data science platform.
Finding the right balance of delivering value to our current users (and the 150k patients they serve!) and investing in an architecture that enables us to scale requires high-level thought leadership and sound technical judgment.
Responsibilities
- Own the product architecture and technical strategy for our core application
- Build powerful systems, tools and interfaces for internal and external users
- Contribute to product strategy and roadmap discussions and create a technical roadmap that aligns with the product roadmap.
- Work cross-functionally to understand technical direction and customer needs
- Identify critical problems to solve and approaches for solving them.
- Help refactor code into scalable architectures as it makes sense; introduce new technologies and internal tools as needed to help us build features faster and more robustly.
- Promote technical best practices and assist building a world-class engineering team.
Requirements
- 7+ years overall experience in software development (with 5+ years full stack)
- Strong understanding of modern technologies - knowing the 'best tool for the job’
- Leads by example and sets the right context for decisions.
- Effective communicator across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Is a creative problem-solver who is able to break down complex problems into manageable components.
- Weighs business and product goals as a foundational component of architectural and technical solutions and investments.
Bonus Points
- Passion for improving healthcare, preferably with experience doing so.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare eligibility and claims data, FHIR interoperability standards, HIPAA compliance.
- Early-stage start-up experience
Why Apply🎉:
- Be a founding member of our technical team, report directly to the CEO, and be trusted to lead the technical strategy of the product.
- Get in the early stage at a high-growth HealthTech company with extreme product market fit and exponential growth (we’re already deployed at 80+ health systems across >25 states!).
- Iterate on an early platform and positively impact millions of lives.
