Description

We’re looking for a Game Designer to lead a development team to craft and expand beautiful and engaging custom games for our universe. With direction from our creative team, you will use your well-developed sense of strategy to develop concepts and dive deep into the process to ensure games are developed and shipped seamlessly. You’ll create unique experiences for our existing Web3 fanbase while remaining approachable and attractive to Web2 customers. Initially, you will focus on a web-based community resourcing and crafting game extension, but you will get to iterate and work across a diverse array of games. This is a contract position with the potential to grow into a full-time role.

Responsibilities

  • Design innovative, intuitive, and engaging games.
  • Support the game design process from idea through implementation, including working with others on the team for narrative, UI/UX, technical development, and art.
  • Design robust economics, rarity, balancing, and algorithmic modeling systems.
  • Create game experiences that can exist within our established narrative and IP.
  • Architect solutions with other engineers to solve UX/UI, gameplay, and scalability challenges.
  • Strategize future product and game plans by researching and deeply understanding our community.
  • Be willing to frequently iterate on and tune features based on prototypes and player feedback.

Requirements

  • Designed a game from start to finish that we can see.
  • 4+ years of professional game design or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, innovative, and engaging games from discovery to execution.
  • Player-focused, scrappy, and innovative.
  • Experience in start-ups, small teams, or operating in a 0-1 environment.
  • Leadership experience, especially in a creative product development setting.
  • Quantitative skills, including familiarity with modeling probability, rarity, and game economies.
