What You’ll Do

  • Record cash settlement and reconcile bank and credit card transactions
  • Prepare journal entries, analyses, and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Research overpayments, initiate refund requests, and classify bank fees
  • Manage multiple revenue streams, including consulting revenue and deferred revenue
  • Ensure proper GAAP revenue recognition on complex deals
  • Invoice creation and validation, processing credit memos, and dispute management
  • Monitor AR Aging, partially paid AR, and the company AR inbox
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and other revenue related schedules
  • Perform analysis of bad debt expense and contra revenue accounts
  • Reconcile liability accounts, customer deposits, overpayments, and debt transactions
  • Monthly sales tax reconciliation and reporting to our external consulting team
  • Monitor inventory and COGS
  • Manage fixed assets, depreciation and CIP accounts
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s accounting policies, with particular attention to areas requiring judgment and estimates
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with audits
  • Develop and improve accounting processes to lessen errors and risk of fraud

You

  • Have a bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting and 2+ years of experience across Big 4 audit and/or fast paced corporate accounting environments
  • Have an understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
  • Have meaningful experience participating in month-end closing activities
  • Are detail oriented, organized, and analytical with strong problem-solving skills
  • Can work in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a strong proficiency with Excel and adaptability to new technology and tools
  • Are a self-starter with the confidence to take on new initiatives
  • Have the ability and desire to work independently while supporting the team

Nice to Have

  • Netsuite, Salesforce, Bill.com, Avalara, Rippling and Stripe experience
  • Certified Public Accountant, MBA, or Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Have technical knowledge of GAAP / SEC accounting and reporting requirements
  • Inventory/Manufacturing/Hardware+Software company experience
  • Audit/Consulting experience/Startup experience
  • Experience, desire, willingness to train accounting resources and help the team building a successful Accounting Department

Salary Range Information 

Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $75,000-$103,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
