Agroforestry Partners (“AP”) is the leading financial solutions provider for agroforestry systems development in North America. AP aims to provide a win/win/win solution for landowners, investors, and the planet in converting monoculture farmland to land with an agroforestry system. AP was formed as a partnership in 2022 by Cargill, Walnut Level Capital and Propagate. In September, AP was part of the team led by the Nature Conservancy awarded a $60mm grant through the USDA backed Climate-Smart Commodities Program.

About This Role
This role will serve as a critical intermediary among the operating Partners, landowners, and investors. This person will play an important role in handling landowner and investor deliverables and helping manage the audit and tax reporting processes. This person would have an opportunity to create additional farmland financing solutions based on available national, state and local incentives. This role will report directly to Charlie Antrim, Managing Partner of Agroforestry Partners and CIO of Walnut Level Capital, and Ethan Steinberg, CEO of Propagate.

- This role will report directly to Charlie Antrim, managing partner of AP and CIO of Walnut Level Capital, and Ethan Steinberg, CEO of Propagate.
- You will be the first full-time hire at the organization and will partner with team members from Propagate to push initiatives forward.
Requirements
- 4+ years working in Accounting/Finance or in a GM role with an entrepreneurial-mindset excited to join a growing organization and wear multiple hats to contribute to all aspects of the firm’s growth.
- A self-motivated individual displaying consistently high attention to detail, thoroughness, and analytical skills.
- Experience dealing with highly confidential business matters and making strategic decisions aligned with risk assessment.
Job Responsibilities
- Help manage the back office, including accounting, budgeting, tax, and legal.
- Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of fund investor deliverables, including investor statements, financial statements, and tax reporting.
- Manage the annual financial statement audit and tax compliance procedures with our outside accounting firm.
- Provide ad hoc support to the investment and farm management teams.
- Assist in investor relations and marketing activities.
- Provide guidance and oversight on the launch of follow-on projects.
- Provide analysis and due diligence in the selection of core service providers (auditors, fund administrator, etc.)
- Establish policies, procedures and best practices.
Focus for the first 30, 60, and 90 days:
- Focus will be to learn the product, the model, Juniper Square, the partners, Keavin Hill and how those parties interact. The goal by the end of 90 days is that this person can own the Juniper Square interface and social media communication as well.
Nice to Haves
- 4-year college degree in Accounting or Finance and experience working as a first GM at a small fund is a plus.
