GIS Software Developer I
Overview:
The GIS Software Developer I (Remote) is a highly technical position who will be responsible for advancing the use of GIS software within the enterprise through the development of automated processes, reports and interactive visualizations, as well as facilitating the use of spatial data through their knowledge of the underlying technologies and their ability to think critically to solve complex problems.
This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ states in which TDS operates.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and enhance GIS based web services.
- Serve as a technical resource in enterprise IT application integration projects.
- Build and enhance JavaScript web map applications.
- Create processes and tools for mobile use of GIS for data collection and consumption.
- Provide technical leadership in assessing the value of GIS products (hardware, applications and data sources) to improve the business practices of the enterprise.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree (or higher) -OR- 2+ years professional work experience.
Other Qualifications
- Preferred degree or certificate in one of the following: GIS, Computer Science, Data Science, or Information Systems.
- A basic understanding of telecommunications networks and technology.
- Experience with the following:ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS. Portal/AGOL,ArcSDE, ArcPy, ArcObjects, Oracle, Tableau, Alteryx.
- Familiar with using software version control (SVN, Git, Mercurial, etc).
- The ability to convey GIS information to non-GIS users and provide concise and approachable answers to in-depth technical questions.
- The ability to work cooperatively with colleagues to develop project requirements, establish standard practices and analyze both spatial and non-spatial data in the context of the request.
- Experience with Attribute rules and Geoprocessing tools
- Familiarity with Linux
