Bazaarvoice is seeking a highly experienced professional to run the Company’s global payroll function. As the Global Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely salary and related compensation payments to our global employees and for ensuring that the company is compliant with all payroll-related income and social tax filings around the world.
The ideal candidate will be someone with the skills and experience to manage a global payroll function in a growing international company with a focus on continual process improvement and automation. This candidate will need to be flexible with a desire and passion to constantly learn.
What you'll be doing:
- Processing semi-monthly, multi-state US payroll
- Managing the relationship with outside payroll service providers in eleven countries outside of the US to ensure accurate payroll reporting that is in accordance with local regulations.
- Collaborating with key partners throughout the organization to ensure accurate recording of all payroll inputs.
- Leading company and departmental initiatives to drive process improvements and automation within the payroll department.
- Maintaining appropriate internal control requirements and narratives, including maintenance of documentation for payroll-related processes and providing recommendations, as appropriate.
- Managing, training and developing payroll staff
- Providing support to employees with payroll-related questions, responding to queries from garnishment and unemployment agencies and auditors and providing employment verifications
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree, or very significant levels of relevant hands-on work experience of running a global payroll function.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) qualification or suitable alternative
- 10+ years of hands-on experience processing multi-state payrolls for US and managing international-based payrolls and payroll services
- Extremely strong oral and written communication skills and a high level of tact with the ability to handle sensitive compensation information
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills
- Strong Workday HRIS and payroll processing knowledge and the ability to collaborate with the HRIS team to continually identify requirements for Workday upgrades and system modifications.
- Prior experience managing an internal payroll team and outside third-party payroll providers
- Knowledge of industry best practices around payroll management, payroll taxes and compliance
- Knowledge in tax reconciliations, tax filings, year-end reporting activities, and W-2 processes
- Knowledge in creating reports as required by internal and external auditors, federal agencies, banks, and tax filing services
- Experience ensuring payroll records are in compliance with Federal guidelines and Company policy
- Prior experience of working with outside payroll bureaus in foreign locations on different time-zones
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills and acute attention to detail
- Well-developed sense of urgency and follow-through
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in collating information for payroll accounting accruals
- Experience preparing and updating payroll policies.
$100,000 - $115,000 a year

At Bazaarvoice, we carefully consider multiple factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. We also take geography into consideration when we can but are not able to accommodate every location when determining our ranges. These considerations mean that compensation can vary. That said, we expect the base salary for this position to be in the range to be as listed above and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. This role will also be eligible for additional compensation incentives including an annual bonus and other great benefits.
