Position Summary

Under Armour is looking for a Global Tax Manager. The Global Tax Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely filings for Latin America (LATAM) income tax compliance (i.e., tax filings/payments/documentation) prepared by local external consultants, compiling international reporting for UA’s U.S. federal income tax return, and preparation of financial accounting for income taxes for LATAM, the preparation of certain intercompany transfer pricing entries including global minimum tax modeling, and tax audit support.

The Global Tax Manager will report to the Senior Manager of International Tax.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for various facets of international corporate tax matters including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Overseeing outside tax consultants preparing income tax compliance to ensure timely and accurate income tax filings in LATAM, including cash tax minimization strategies
  • Detail review of all LATAM income, transfer pricing, and informational tax returns prepared by outside consultants
  • Coordination and tracking of LATAM income tax assessments, payments, and related processes
  • Oversee and lead all aspects of foreign income tax audits in the LATAM region, including overseeing local outside tax consultants
  • Preparation of income tax accounting provisions for Under Armour’s LATAM entities for the consolidated US GAAP financial statements and local statutory financial statements
  • Ad hoc business and project support for the LATAM region covering various tax-related issues
  • Assist with forecasting of US international income taxes (GILTI, Foreign Tax Credit, §163(j), BEAT, FDII) to support the quarterly ASC 740 global tax provision
  • Prepare detail computations for the annual US international income tax compliance (GILTI, Foreign Tax Credit, §163(j), BEAT, FDII)
  • Prepare quarterly and annual modeling to forecast global minimum taxes and assist with related planning and optimization projects (OECD Pillar II – IIR, UTPR, and QDMT)
  • Assist with the implementation of global minimum tax compliance in coordination with UA’s tax managers in EMEA and APAC
  • Implement and oversee global minimum tax compliance for LATAM
  • Support international tax planning and strategy initiatives, including original modeling
  • Assist with quarterly transfer pricing and income tax provision journal entry preparation as needed
  • Prepare and coordinate other aspects of US international tax compliance (e.g., Form 1042, Form W-8BENe)
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders with an emphasis on internal Controllership, Legal, Treasury, and FP&A, and external tax advisors
  • Execute on high priority, vital assignments efficiently and accurately

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Ability to analyze, and interpret tax laws and regulations, technical guidance, tax journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations and apply and communicate the implications to Under Armour
  • Strong Communication skills. Able to express facts and ideas in writing in a clear, convincing and organized manner; listen effectively, and clarify information as needed to tax and non-tax internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives concurrently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Flexible with change and able to shift gears quickly

Education And / Or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Masters in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
  • 5-7 years of public accounting tax experience or a mix of public accounting and US multinational corporate tax department experience
  • Proficient understanding of US international tax laws and regulations required
  • Extensive experience in research of tax laws, rules and regulations, and application to specific scenarios required
  • Proficient knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting required
  • Experience with SAP or comparable large-scale ERP systems required

Other Requirements

  • Location: This position is fully remote
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Experience with LATAM corporate income tax laws and regulations preferred
  • Experience with Power BI/Power Query/Alteryx preferred
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision or comparable software preferred

  • Base Compensation Range: $97,135.00 - $133,560.90
