Responsibilities:

Grant Research and Identification:

  • Research and identify potential grant partners, grantor foundations, corporations, and organizations aligned with Apprentice Now's mission.
  • Research and identify new government, corporation, foundation, and private funding prospects.
  • Evaluate and select complimentary and appropriate grant opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with Non-profit entities that Apprentice Now can partner with to apply for and win grants.
  • As needed, gather subject matter experts for discussions and assemble information pertinent to grant applications.

Financial Oversight:

  • Coordinate with the VP of Operations to evaluate budgets and ensure grants align with the operational and financial needs of the organization.
  • Raise $450,000 in new grant funding in 2024 and $1 million per year after.

Proposal Development and Submission:

  • Write and submit 3-5 grant proposals per month, adhering to Apprentice Now’s guidelines and requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals, gather supporting information, and ensure timely submission to granting agencies.
  • Maintain a master file of pending, existing, and past grants across the organization.

Relationship Building:

  • Work collaboratively with the team servicing clients, workforce organizations, and 3rd party partners
  • Serve as the key interface in developing relationships with foundations, corporations, and granting entities.
  • Maintain relationships with granting organizations and agencies to foster ongoing support.

Reporting and Tracking:

  • Organize and track grant activity, including the development of an annual grants calendar.
  • Provide regular updates to the VP of Operations on progress with development activities, grant cycles, and proposals.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on the performance of program activities funded by third-party sources ensuring that Apprentice Now remains on track to successfully deliver on the commitments made in each grant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in grant writing and fundraising.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and procedures related to grant funding.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Grant Writing with a proven track record of creating your own success.
  • Self-Starter Mentality: An innate drive to take initiative and push boundaries to be successful.
  • Knowledge of fundraising methods and strategies to effectively plan and execute revenue goals
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple grant proposals simultaneously.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to find strategic opportunities in a variety of situations
