Self-directed individual must have a professional Customer Service orientation and be the sole manager of website projects through the design phase of the project. Is responsible for quality output and ensuring high customer satisfaction. The primary activities are to be the client interface to set expectations, educate the client, and lead them through design and functional choices to produce design specifications that meet the client’s goals and remain in the scope possible within the Web Open framework and functional element views. The individual will design mockup(s) based on information gathered at the initial design meeting that meet internal requirements and customer requests. The goal is to initiate, manage, and complete the design process as efficiently as possible (5 weeks or under). Design Specialists must be able to converse with a customer via Zoom meeting, email or telephone to manage processes and keep projects moving to completion. In this role, the DS will actively manage many client projects at the same time. The DS must be organized and have excellent written and verbal communication to drive projects interfacing internally and externally.

We’re excited to hire a new Graphic Designer who can:

Project Management/Client Interface 

  • Upon assignment, the specialist will arrange / schedule Design Meetings with clients following an established protocol. 
  • Conduct design meetings, reviewing client goals, example designs, and functional elements to develop written specifications for home page design and identify assets needed from the client to complete the design. 
  • The specialist will write up detailed specifications and collect necessary assets from the client to be used to execute the initial design mockup.
  • The specialist will present mockups and manage the feedback process with the client to gather feedback for changes and manage rounds of edits working on getting sign off on design as quickly as possible. 
  • Maintain customer account, contact, and project-related information within the Salesforce CRM application.

Graphic Design/Mockup Creation 

  • Use design specifications gathered in design meetings to efficiently create unique home page mockup.
  • All designs must be ADA compliant (color contrast for text and background) on entire mockup. Use tools to analyze and guarantee.
  • All designs must use existing structural functional elements (avoiding custom development).
  • Interface with Engineering when questions about implementation feasibility when necessary. 
  • Mockups are produced in Adobe XD with some behaviors (hovers etc). Should have experience in XD or like product (Figma, Sketch)
  • Will need to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to clean, prepare or create graphic elements.
  • Lead initial mockups through internal review process for design quality control. 
  • Update Mockups based on client feedback until initial design is signed off.
  • Prepare assets and variables file (sass) and XD developer mockup to pass to implementation team.
  • Review implemented sites as part of a team quality check.

There is no perfect candidate, but we are looking for:

  • Prior experience with responsive website design, website usability, project & client management
  • Prior experience developing website design mockups in Adobe XD
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team orientation
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task on several customer issues or projects simultaneously 
  • Website design
  • Organized individual with keen attention on detail
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
  • Experience with SalesForce, Microsoft Office, and Teams helpful.
