Graphic Designer
Description
Mod Op is seeking a Graphic Designer (Senior Level) to support the design of brand marketing materials for a retailer of prescription/fashion eyewear. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and grow our Optical brand voice across a diverse range of retail partners in the department store and mass merchandise classes of trade. The successful candidate should possess the ability to transform fresh ideas into actionable concepts, with the goal of establishing a consistent look and feel across all creative platforms.

Job Responsibilities:

Creative Concept, Design, and Production (60%)
- Translate creative briefs into design concepts that:
- Drive consumer relevance and engagement
- Meet marketing objectives and drive traffic to deliver sales
- Collaborate with Marketing, Visual, outside agencies, and other cross-functional partners to build strong, consistent concepts that differentiate our Optical brands from the competition
- Lead the design of compelling marketing vehicles and in-store graphics, including but not limited to:
- Print Advertising
- Direct Mail
- Email and Digital
- In-store signage and collateral
- Prepare final files (flattening of images, packaging for traffic, organization/placement in centralized location for future reference and access).
- Coordinate/traffic assets to key stakeholders in the creative process, including Host contacts, agencies, and internal cross-functional partners.
Project Management (20%)
- Support in the development of procedures and protocols for project management of creative assignments. Lead freelance designers (as applicable) in onboarding and workload trafficking to ensure understanding of procedures and production flow.
- Function as point person to decode project scope and prioritize projects across brands (leveraging Workzone software for project management).
Design Standards (10%)
- Support the development & maintenance of design standards, guidelines, and best practices; ensure alignment of standards with Host partner expectations.
Logo Development (on occasion)
- Support the development of Logos, Style Guides and overall Branding guidelines for new brands.

- Articulate: Confident presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written. Willing and able to contribute copy ideas to best express creative concepts, in partnership with marketing team.
- Confident Project Manager: Proactively works to plan, prioritize, and communicate multi-layered workflow needs to deliver on-time projects.
Requirements
- BFA in Graphic Design preferred
- 4-6+ years of design experience in graphic design, advertising, brand and/or retail environments
- Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
- Basic knowledge of Figma is a plus
- Basic proficiency designing for web (responsive design, mobile first, etc.) with a clear understanding of best practices and the relationship between design and development (HTML, Ajax, JavaScript, and CSS)
- Prior experience with file transfer and creative trafficking best practices
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
