POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a creative, forward-thinking, and highly collaborative graphic designer to join our growing design team at Oportun. You will partner directly with the marketing team on campaigns that support new and existing products and features. This role will see projects throughout the entire design process, from creative conception to production and release.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Craft engaging visuals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Design for various mediums across many surfaces, including our website, ads, social channels, direct mail, and internal communications.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product design, engineering, and research teams
  • Grow and maintain a rich asset library of imagery, illustration, and icons for use across our products.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of design quality.
  • Collaborate with external agencies or freelance designers, providing art direction and ensuring brand consistency in outsourced projects.
  • Ground your work in a deep understanding of our brand and utilize strategic insights to inform your design decisions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience and a strong portfolio showcasing graphic design skills across various mediums such as web, ads, social, video, and print.
  • Excellence in typography, color, layout, and composition.
  • Strong experience working in Figma, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Critical thinking, storytelling, and communication skills that help you explain design rationale to teams, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Experience designing websites and collaborating with web developers to bring them to life.
  • Experience collaborating closely with copywriters.
  • Presentation experience that demonstrates your ability to clearly tell a story.
  • The ability to leverage feedback and channel it into design explorations.
  • Experience using templates and design systems to guide your work.
  • The ability to foster strong working relationships with design and cross-functional partners by communicating regularly about ongoing projects.
  • A love of working independently, juggling multiple projects at a time, and iterating quickly.

"The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $124,000.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects a national minimum and maximum range for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
