At TerrAscend, we are on a mission to shape the future of the cannabis industry by creating leading marijuana-based therapies for patients and developing premium products for legalized adult recreational use. We are one of the largest and fastest growing multi-state, vertically integrated cannabis operators in North America. We’re on a roll and are just getting started!

It’s a Joint Effort

We believe that how we work together matters. Our priority is to assemble a team that believes not just in what we do but how and why we do it. Our most successful team members know that being of service to our patients, our customers, and each other is what separates us from other organizations. Our continued success is dependent upon bringing together the brightest minds in business with best-in-class cultivation and elevated patient and customer experiences, so we continue to set the standard for the industry.

Sound like weed be a fit? Here is where you come in!

TerrAscend’s creative team is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Freelance Graphic Designer. In this fast-paced production-focused role, you will be responsible for utilizing pre-determined templates to create an array of promotional assets for weekly, monthly, and vendor content for our Michigan and Northeastern United States markets. There will also be opportunities to apply your creative skills and bring fresh ideas to our design projects.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for the finer points of design, the ability to balance production work with creative input, and will be available for quick-turn projects.

This is a Contract (1099) position with up to 30 hours per week. There is potential for additional hours based on demand and output. This position is remote anywhere within the United States.

We are not partnering with any outside recruiting agencies for this role and we are only accepting applications from Graphic Designers who want to work directly with TerrAscend's creative team.

To be blunt, this role will be about:

  • Utilizing promotional templates in Adobe Xd and InDesign to format print and digital promotions for weekly/monthly cadences.
  • Collaborating with the art director and team to update and maintain existing design templates for promotional content as needed.
  • Ensuring that all designs adhere to brand guidelines, are of high quality, and built in good taste.
  • Synergizing with the marketing and creative teams to ensure assets meet promotional goals and deadlines.
  • Using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Xd) to create and modify designs as needed.
  • Applying strong fundamental design skills — including typography, hierarchy, and layout — to all projects.
  • Contributing creative ideas and solutions to enhance our promotional materials and brand presence.
  • Excising close attention to detail to ensure precision, accuracy, and consistency across materials.

To be successful in this role, we know you'll need:

  • Proven experience as a graphic designer, preferably in a production-focused role.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, XD).
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for perfection in design.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental graphic design principles (typography, hierarchy, layout, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a remote team.
  • Expertise in the cannabis industry is a plus (OPTIONAL)
  • Deep working knowledge of Xd/Figma is a plus (streamlining workflows, components, technical features) (OPTIONAL)
  • Previous design experience in promotional marketing or digital advertising is a plus (OPTIONAL)

Required technical licenses/subscriptions:

  • You will need your own subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud and any additional resources you utilize. TerrAscend does not supply contractors with subscription licenses.
