Work you'll do:

OnePet is seeking a part-time Graphic Designer specializing in package design that will guide the design process from beginning to end while working closely with both the Head of Design and Supply Chain Director. This role has potential to become full time. In this role, you will conceptualize, design and execute prototypes using brand design elements such as shape, color, graphics and typography to create packaging that is functional and appealing to our customers.

This role will be responsible for drawing the customer's attention while relaying important information and giving the item its purchasing power. Besides having savvy design skills, collaboration is key as you will work closely with Design and Product Development teams to ensure the company's product and brand are well represented through the packaging materials. In this role, you will create prototypes for e-commerce and marketing materials and will team up with product development, supply chain coordinators, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure all needs are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design process for packaging materials for products, including brainstorming and creating prototypes
  • Oversee design projects from start to finish with a high level of commitment, initiative, and organization
  • Review drafts to secure quality and keep track of all creative process steps
  • Assess project specifics and format graphics as needed to ensure brand standardization and fidelity of art direction through color, typography, and overall production quality across digital and print files
  • Strong understanding of, and experience with file organization including version tracking and revision history
  • Experience in ingestibles or topicals (human or animal) with knowledge of packaging containing ingredient decks, warning statements, and other industry requirements
  • Convert files from RGB to CMYK where needed and ensure accuracy of color on all applications including the usage of Pantone.
  • Work with the internal teams and vendors to review/ proof graphic materials and tests for quality and fidelity
  • Review final copy, layouts, and content for digital and print forms prior to testing, delivery, and launch
  • Collaborates with product development and creative teams, especially graphic designers and copywriters, to create eye-catching designs
  • Manage artwork file organization and revision number history strategy. Must comply with regulatory requirements.
  • May contribute to brand presentations, manuals, collateral material, calendars, digital ads, social media assets, and promotional materials

Qualifications:

  • Degree in related field
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • 2-3 years of experience in graphic design with an emphasis on packaging design.
  • Portfolio with relevant work experience
  • Self-starter, independent thinker, highly responsible
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Thrives working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strict attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines
