We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Reporting to the VP, Finance, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of finance and accounting at Octopus, ensuring that everything we do is in accordance with accounting standards, company policies, legislative requirements, and industry best practices.
With operations in Australia, the US, the UK, and New Zealand, this role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant wanting to join a fast-growing company and take ownership of this business area.
Salary Expectations: $110,000 -140,000 AUD
What is this role about?
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions
- Ensuring that the company's statutory reporting, annual audit requirements, and tax obligations are met
- Lodging GST, BAS, US Sales Taxes, and other returns
- Maintaining strong financial controls while mitigating financial and operational risk including leading the internal audit reviews
Who are we looking for?
- Ideally you live in Brisbane or Sydney
- You possess impeccable attention to detail
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail
- You are self-motivated and can work effectively in a remote environment.
- You are organised and efficient, manage competing priorities, and double-check your own work.
- CA/CPA qualification is highly desirable
