Maximus has raised $15M from top Silicon Valley VCs such as Founders Fund and 8VC as well as leading angel investors/operators from companies like Bulletproof, Tinder, Coinbase, Daily Stoic, & Shopify.
Maximus is looking for a Growth Product Manager to drive growth and retention initiatives pertaining to the Maximus app. The ideal candidate is curious, questions assumptions, identifies and reduces friction in the user experience, removes barriers to purchase and retention, develops and maintains a deep knowledge of who customers are, their problems, their barriers to finding and achieving value from the product. The ideal candidate is analytical, data-driven, methodical, and able to prioritize initiatives that improve the KPIs and OKRs of highest importance to the organization. We are looking for a detail-oriented product manager with sharp analytical skills and experience managing growth and retention initiatives at a tech startup, preferably in health care/telemedicine. This product manager will be responsible for maintaining a high-quality, intuitive, low-friction customer journey from the point of registration through receipt of product and subsequent renewals. This customer journey includes software as well as physical products, in the form of at-home lab kits, medication, and accompanying inserts. This product manager will play a key role in developing the product roadmap in alignment with company goals and product vision.

Responsibilities:
- Improve customer conversion and retention. Collaborate with the Head of Marketing and Head of Product to define and strategically prioritize A/B tests to optimize conversion within the Maximus app and website. Conversion metrics include: initial purchase, cross-sells, upsells, and win-backs. Define target population, success metrics, start and stop dates. Collaborate with the analytics team to ensure pre- and post-launch initiatives are in place to track success. Assist UAT in Maximus app staging environment to ensure A/B test meets requirements prior to release to production.
- Develop and maintain deep knowledge of the customer. Leverage product experience insight platforms, user interviews, and dashboards to develop a rich understanding who the customer is, their problems, and barriers to purchase and retention. Collaborate with the Head of Marketing and Head of Product to develop buyer personas to focus deeper analytic efforts.
- Advocate for priorities on Product Roadmap. Use quantitative and qualitative analytic techniques to estimate and characterize expected impact of features on KPIs and OKRs. Prepare project summaries (why the project is important, what features will be required) for presentation to the Technical Project Manager team in order to negotiate scope and estimate effort as part of quarterly Product Roadmap development sessions.
- Product manage diverse consumer app feature releases. Gather requirements from cross-functional team leads based on priorities set on Product Roadmap for projects related to consumer-facing app. Projects include: standing up referral programs, launching new pricing plans, adding payment options, adding lab options, launching new pharmaceutical and over-the-counter products, improving in-app experience, and more. Develop a stepwise launch plan, including separation of soft and hard launch cohorts, robust test cases for QA, a plan for capturing customer feedback for rapid iteration, and pre/post launch success metrics. Assist UAT in Maximus app staging environment to ensure features meet requirements.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Experience:
- Product Management: 3+ years of experience as a product manager, including time as a growth stage start-up, preferably in healthcare/telemedicine eCommerce. Excellent use of Confluence to manage requirements. Strong ticket writing skills using project management software. Abstract thinking to develop robust test plans to ensure smooth, bug-free launches.
- Metric-Driven Performance: Proven history of successfully optimizing and overhauling customer-facing features and flows through strategic A/B testing and investigative customer research. Strong analytical orientation and a knack for identifying and measuring success for initiatives and projects related to growth and retention of customers.
- Promotion and Referral Program Management: Has managed promotions and referral programs in collaboration with Marketing to lower acquisition costs. The ideal candidate has experience in vendor assessment and can lead the effort to determine which vendors are used to facilitate these programs.
- User Research: Has conducted user interviews to understand sentiment behind customer decisions (ex: cart-abandonment, subscription cancelation, and the like). Demonstrated willingness to outreach to current and prospective customers directly via email and phone to gather voice of the consumer insights. Ideal candidate has participated in the development of buyer personas for use in deeper quantitative analytics.
- Technical Experience: While the ideal candidate does not need to be able to code, they have an understanding of technical systems, API integrations, third-party software user interfaces, and are able to assist in technical troubleshooting for customer-faced bugs.
