As the Head of Engineering, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our engineering strategy. You will lead and manage all engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software products, driving innovation in the healthcare fintech domain, and fostering a culture of growth and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a growing team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Define team structure, establish clear roles and responsibilities, and facilitate effective communication and coordination across teams.
  • Implement initiatives to foster professional growth, engagement, and retention of existing software engineers.
  • Engineering Strategy and Execution:
  • Define the engineering roadmap and technical vision in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including product management and design, to prioritize engineering initiatives and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Balance the need for scaling teams with strategies for retaining existing software engineers, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Recruitment and Team Expansion:
  • Work closely with the talent acquisition team to define hiring strategies, attract top-tier engineering talent, and build a diverse and inclusive engineering organization.
  • Manage the recruitment process for software engineers, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new team members.
  • Develop strategies and programs to retain existing software engineers, fostering their professional growth and job satisfaction.
  • Process Improvement and Operational Excellence:
  • Implement and optimize engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase productivity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Monitor and analyze engineering metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, where feedback is encouraged and used to drive positive change while considering the needs of both scaling teams and retaining existing software engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Head of Engineering or similar leadership role in a successful software startup.
  • Strong technical background and hands-on experience in software engineering, preferably in fintech or related domains.
  • Experience managing and scaling engineering teams, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to create an environment that promotes both team scalability and retention of existing software engineers.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving common goals.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align engineering efforts with company strategy.
  • Solid understanding of modern software development methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with the USA healthcare market and related regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English & Russian.

$10,000 - $14,000 a month
