Head of Marketing

Our company

Moxie enables nurses to become entrepreneurs, and grow successful, independent businesses. MedSpas are booming, regulated practices that provide aesthetics services like botox, fillers, and more.

Today, 80% of them in the US are individually owned and operated and we want to keep it that way. We provide entrepreneurs the tools and expertise to operate with the scale of a large chain while remaining independent.

We enable our providers to focus on caring for their patients and make them more successful than they would have been alone. We are a well-funded seed-stage company with many happy providers and quickly scaling revenue.

We’re looking for a Head of Marketing to lead two mission-critical parts of our business:

  • Grow Moxie into the dominant platform for aesthetics business
  • Develop the marketing machine for Moxie providers to grow their own med spa practices such that they each become thriving businesses

You’ll also be stepping into a key leadership role in the company, and you’ll be expected to contribute to our overall strategy.

Marketing Moxie to Nurses

Today, our marketing machine is reliant on a small number of channels: you’ll both take over those channels, and build and execute on a pipeline of experiments to deepen our reach. You’ll own paid marketing, content & SEO, product marketing, brand, and partnerships. You’ll partner with our sales team, empowering them with effective positioning and distinct marketing messages.

You’ll own the model for continued fast quarter/quarter growth, and report on variance from that model. You’ll constantly ask what we can do to grow faster.

Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for driving steady, long-term growth.

Marketing Moxie’s providers to consumers

Driving growth for our providers through a combination of tools and services is core to our success. As Moxie’s marketing leader, you’ll determine the largest levers to grow our providers’ businesses and build a roadmap to deliver against those for hundreds of practices across the country.

You’ll be building on early success across field marketing, event marketing, and paid digital marketing. Some of what you build will become core to our offering, some will be offered as an upsell.

Success in this component of the role will be measured in steady m/m growth in our practices’ sales volume.

Our objectives for the role

  • Build Moxie into the dominant platform for aesthetic practices
  • Take over and expand our existing marketing channels
  • Build and execute a pipeline of marketing experiments
  • Lead development of Moxie’s brand
  • Enable our sales team to sell effectively with strong materials aligned with our marketing messaging
  • Drive sales growth in our providers’ practices
  • Develop best practices for Moxie’s marketing playbook for our providers across paid channels, social media, event marketing, field marketing, and email/text marketing
  • Develop an excellent team & create a high performance culture in which each team member feels like they can do their best work
  • Develop and grow our company overall: shape our strategy, operating plan, and product roadmap

We’re looking for:

  • You’ve done this job successfully at an early-stage company, driving growth in the business from $1M -> $10M
  • You have a track record of turning ambiguous opportunities into predictable growth drivers
  • You’re deeply data-driven, and can quickly decode reports to understand what’s driving out-performance or under-performance
  • You’re an excellent manager and leader

Why join us

  • Above all, we’re in this to empower small business owners to own and grow their businesses. If you succeed, Med Spas will remain the opportunity for independent owner-operators instead of being dominated by a small number of large chains. If that speaks to you, speak to us.
  • We have much left to build. But given the market feedback we’re getting and our founding team’s company-building experience, we think we are writing the first chapters of a real success story.
  • Experience taking over as the growth leader building on early product-market fit. A role like this molds to its owner, but inevitably stretches and grows you as well.
  • Competitive salary and stock, and generous health/dental/vision coverage
