Infrastructure Architect
Overview
GovCIO is looking for an Infrastructure Architect to join our Health PMO team. The candidate should have experience with a civil agency, preferably Veterans Affairs. This is a fully remote working opportunity. This individual is expected to have a proven track record of working remotely with minimal direction. Office hours are M-F 8am-5pm ET.
Responsibilities
Create an innovative multi-environment (on-premises data centers, hyperscale clouds – Azure & AWS) secure genomic analysis on large volumes of data, including use of AI/ML techniques. The team will be responsible for the rapid acceleration, and translation of vision into architecture and delivery of systems, solutions, and services to researchers and clinicians with a high level of security and privacy. Excellent technical skills and experience in the respective areas with critical thinking to solve complex problems will be key for the success of the architects and engineers.
- Design end-to-end highly secure and highly available Infrastructure Architecture (On-premises, and preferable Cloud, Hybrid, Multi-Cloud)
- Collaborate with Application, Data and Security Architects to incorporate security, data, and application requirements.
- Design and build on-premises IaaS and hence extensive on-premises experience is a must.
- Architect systems for High Performance computing clusters with the ability to execute genomics pipelines at scale with large volumes of data.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's with 15+ years (or commensurate experience)
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and agile methodologies
- Infrastructure Architecture experience extensively in on-premises, and preferably in cloud (AWS, Azure), hybrid cloud.
- Knowledge of virtualization techniques and working experience on hypervisors
- MLOPs, DevSecOps experience is a plus.
- Experience in secure and scalable infrastructure architecture for web applications, data systems and back-end applications
- Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS components in on-premises (private cloud) and preferably in cloud (hybrid and public / gov)
- Knowledge of infrastructure for distributed data systems
- In-depth knowledge of network design, server and storage design in a highly scalable, fault-tolerant model is a must.
- Extensive knowledge of on-premises infrastructure and preferably cloud infrastructure (VPC, N/W, sub-nets, Cloud network connect, VPN, IAM, DB, K8, Autoscaling, Multi-zone, multi-region).
- Experience in design, create and build of IaaS and PaaS for on-premises environment.
- Knowledge of IaC (Infrastructure as Code), infra-automation, monitoring and tools such as Terraform.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in architecting and designing GPU's, HPC clusters and pipelines for genomics processing is HIGHLY DESIRABLE.
- Knowledge of infrastructure for AI workloads including analysis pipelines and neural network models for genomics workloads is HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- MLOPs, DevSecOps experience is a plus.

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Posted Salary Range
USD $160,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
