About Pinterest:

Millions of people across the world come to Pinterest to find new ideas every day. It's where they get inspiration, dream about new possibilities and plan for what matters most. Our mission is to help those people find their inspiration and create a life they love. In your role, you'll be challenged to take on work that upholds this mission and pushes Pinterest forward. You'll grow as a person and leader in your field, all the while helping Pinners make their lives better in the positive corner of the internet.

Our new progressive work model is called PinFlex, a term that's uniquely Pinterest to describe our flexible approach to living and working. Visit our PinFlex landing page to learn more.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead development, coordination, definition and implementation of the strategy for all Pinterest global employee communication channels (intranet, email, slack, wikis, new solutions, etc), including working closely with HR Tech lead and IT Head of Employee Experience to develop and implement an Intranet solution for the company.
  • Have primary responsibility and accountability for content strategy, creation and production, channel management, and publishing to reach and engage global Pinterest employees, working cross-functionally across the business while remaining true to our brand guidelines and purpose (write, edit, produce, distribute).
  • Establish an insights and measurement approach to channels and content and continually evolve based on findings.
  • Develop new and enhance existing internal communication channels while implementing tools, processes and resources to drive consistency and best practices across the business.
  • Introduce innovative communication approaches by remaining current with new tools, benchmarking and developing the ongoing evolution of Pinterest employee communication channels.
  • Work cross-functionally with both internal and with external partners to develop and manage creative and meaningful content and Pinner/Pinployee stories that highlight the company mission and culture, placing them in the right channel at the right time to increase engagement and inspiration.
  • Serve as an advisor to your Communications peers, senior leaders and other stakeholders on the best uses for channels and content to reach the right audiences and meet business objectives.

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years of corporate/internal communications experience with broad knowledge of digital and other content delivery platforms. They excel at out-of-the-box thinking and are creative yet methodical in their approach at engaging with employees by using different mediums. They know what’s hot in the communications world before anyone else does and they closely follow trends related to how employees access information.
  • Someone who understands the technical aspects of channel management and content, but also knows how to engage with employees through those channels and content.
  • Experience working in a global and largely remote environment, designing for inclusion, diversity, time zones, cultures, etc.
  • A channel strategist who has developed a channel mix that includes leveraging current channels and developing new ones from the ground up, introducing them to an organization, measuring effectiveness and adjusting for maximum impact.
  • Someone with experience working cross-functionally across a business to develop messages and stories that resonate, gaining alignment on timing and placement, and driving creative solutions - all that align to the corporate narrative, brand, story and mission in order to inspire and engage employees.
  • We need a leader and an implementer all rolled into one. This role will require someone who enjoys developing the strategy, solving big challenges and also digging in to get the work done.
  • This position requires a strong background in communication channel management and development, as well as content creation and implementation. The ideal candidate will have a background in user experience and insights, project management, writing and problem solving. They must be able to build partnerships across the company, manage through ambiguity, build and execute against well-defined plans, and move the organization toward a vision of delivering a best-in-class employee communications experience.
  • 1x/quarter is the PinFlex estimated in-office frequency (e.g. Our PinFlex future of work philosophy requires this role to visit a Pinterest office for collaboration approximately 1x per quarter). For employees not located within a commutable distance from this in-office touchpoint, Pinterest will cover travel & expenses.
