International Brand/Product Manager

The International Brand / Product Manager will work across multiple disciplines in the company to facilitate the launch of new products in APAC and EMEA, ensuring seamless cross-functional management among several departments including sales, marketing/creative, comms, legal / regulatory, supply, R&D, and operations.

The International Brand / Product Manager is primarily responsible for developing a product portfolio that drives growth for the Impossible™ brand across the world. This role will oversee the development, commercialization, and go-to-market planning for the international product portfolio in both APAC and EMEA. This means working to grow the core product portfolio, while also leading innovation with new platforms. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker that is willing to roll up their sleeves and dig into the details on everything from business cases to product artwork changes.

This role will report directly to the Director of Int’l Brand Management & Marketing and will work tirelessly to shape the future of international products at Impossible.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage the international product commercialization process from concept to execution, from writing the PRD to championing products through NPI stage-gates to working with co-manufacturing partners 
  • Lead the product roadmapping process for our international markets in APAC and EMEA, taking point on the business case and getting buy-in and alignment from all supply + demand disciplines
  • Serve as the single source of truth on Int’l product portfolio development, providing the key information relating to product commercialization specs, timelines, etc for all team members
  • Own the NPD process and business case development for new international products, leading the DVP mapping and prospective P&L for new products as you vet routes to market
  • Oversee the intersection of product / brand management, leading process on product messaging, claims, and packaging / artwork development 
  • Triage product commercialization issues that arise, including artwork updates, stickering / labeling, research implications, nutrition requirements and regulatory challenges
  • Manage cross-functional product launch teams to ensure open communication and coordination with sales, marketing, comms, finance, legal / regulatory, supply, nutrition, R&D, and operations
  • Partner with consumer insights and quality to identify key areas to improve products. Lead the feedback throughout the product improvement process, and analyze the product improvement impacts. 
  • Design and lead quarterly competitive knowledge share forums around key products and technology, helping the team to stay up to date on emerging trends
  • Oversee total international product portfolio, including intersection of SKUs in various markets to optimize production efficiency and ensure consistent processes across the entire portfolio

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience  
  • 5+ years of Brand / Product Management experience at a CPG company
  • Proven track record of overseeing products / product portfolios for a brand, both growing core portfolio and developing new innovation platforms across international markets
  • Depth and breadth of knowledge of product commercialization - You’ve written PRDs, championed products through NPI stagegates, and worked with sales / marketings on launch plans
  • Strong ability to interpret data + consumer insights to inform product development/commercialization
  • Strong analytical acumen -- you don’t shy away from digging into data in Excel/Google Sheets in order to inform strategic decisions
  • Strong presentation skills -- you’re comfortable making a presentation in Google Slides or Keynote, then sharing with project stakeholders
  • Experience working with and managing external partners, including distributors, co-manufacturing partners, research agencies, etc
  • Excellent writing skills; you can adapt to write both business and creative documents
  • Able to collaborate with multiple business owners and external partners.
  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines and scopes of work.
  • Strong preference for experience at a global FMCG / food company and/or disruptor startup, specifically launching new products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working at a global brand, specifically working across multiple countries and/or on an international business unit 
  • Experience working with both R&D / science teams, as well as commercial teams (distributors, co-manufacturers, etc) 
  • Willingness to travel as needed for team offsites and partner business meetings

$122,000 - $203,500 a year

This U.S. based, full-time position offers the above base salary range + equity + benefits + bonus for sales incentive plan roles. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
