About the Role
As the IT Administrator, you will be responsible for jointly managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure with the help of the Security and Engineering teams. Your initial focus will be asset and account management and you will be working closely with various teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations to help us scale our IT systems as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Management:
- Manage IT assets, including hardware (laptops, monitors, peripherals) and software (licenses, subscriptions) across the organization.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment, ensuring all devices are up to date and compliant with organizational standards.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software procurement, repairs, and returns.
- User and Identity Management:
- Oversee user accounts, access permissions, and authentication protocols for internal systems, including Infrastructure as a Service providers, and back-office tools such as Google Workspace.
- Jointly set up new employees with required hardware, software, and access, ensuring seamless onboarding experiences.
- Provide ongoing support for password management, account recovery, and role-based access control.
- Security Support:
- Assist with rolling out and maintaining endpoint protection mechanisms, encryption of EngFlow’s corporate IT fleet and their firewall configurations
- Collaborate with the Security and Engineering teams as necessary
- Engineering Support:
- Provide technical support to the Engineering team in setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting development environments and tools.
- Assist in deploying updates to internal infrastructure and services, ensuring uptime and minimal disruption.
- Day-to-Day IT Support:
- Act as the first point of contact for general IT support inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues for staff across the organization.
- Resolve issues related to software, hardware, network connectivity, and internal applications.
- Monitor and maintain the performance and availability of company systems, resolving issues proactively.
- Documentation & Training:
- Create and maintain clear documentation of IT policies, procedures, and systems.
- Develop user guides and provide training to staff on new IT tools, systems, and security best practices.
- Assist in maintaining knowledge-sharing resources, such as FAQs and internal IT wikis.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor and assess IT systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends, tools, and technologies to help the organization remain competitive and secure.
- Participate in ongoing IT projects as needed, including network upgrades, cloud migrations, and system implementations.
Requirements
- Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in IT support or administration, preferably in a fast-paced or startup environment.
- Hands-on experience with asset management systems, account provisioning tools, and IT ticketing systems.
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools (e.g., Jamf, Intune) and identity management solutions (e.g., Google Workspace, Okta, Active Directory).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in common operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices, including VPNs, MFA, endpoint protection, and network security protocols.
- Experience supporting cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and development tools (e.g., Docker, Git).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., BASH, Python, Ansible).
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL, or Security+ are a plus.
- Familiarity with DevOps and engineering environments is a bonus.
