Junior Creative Designer
Location
Our headquarters are in Cambridge, MA, USA and we have a subsidiary in Athens, Greece. However, we are a remote first company, and you will have the flexibility to work remotely as long as your residence is in the USA, EU, or Greece.
The team
TileDB is expanding the marketing team! We are pioneering the database for any complex data and compute. When it comes to data, TileDB structures what others see as unstructured; going beyond blobs and tables and making any data - video, images, genomics etc. analysis-ready. TileDB is getting a ton of traction in life sciences, geospatial, telecom and more.
We are looking for a Junior Creative Designer who will embrace our mission and get stuff effectively and efficiently done. While collaborating and reporting to the Head of Creative Design, you will work closely with our Head of Marketing, Technical Marketing Manager, Sales Team, CEO, and technical experts/engineers.
How you will contribute:
- Create and deliver visual assets that will be included across multiple content types such as web graphics, print materials, collaterals, social assets as well as creatives for technical documentation, campaigns, ads, etc.
- Apply our existing brand guidelines, foundational design elements and templates with a keen eye for consistency, detail and impact. Also assist as we evolve and grow TileDB’s visual identity which is modern, fresh and resonates with a technical audience.
Our Interview Process (~1 week)
- 1 hour call covering screening questions, a resume walk-thru and showcase of your past portfolio of work with time set aside for questions about the role and team.
- ~1 hour in-depth assessment, essentially a short exercise to see how you can create an asset from a concept emulating our brand guidelines
- 30 min call with our Head of Marketing

Requirements
Prerequisites:
- Creative design experience - either in-house or freelance. Familiarity with tech companies is a plus, as the role involves a keen ability to understand abstract and complex technical concepts.
- An outstanding portfolio of work demonstrating mastery in creating consistent yet memorable visual assets of multiple types.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Digital Advertising, or comparable degree program, or commensurate experience.
- Proficiency in the core graphic design applications of Adobe Creative Cloud like Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Ability to quickly produce and deliver web-ready graphics for the corporate site (good familiarity with Figma) and campaign assets, such as newsletters and landing pages in HubSpot.
- Basic experience in communication and collaboration with web developers and UX/UI professionals.
- Very good design knowledge of printed materials.
- Ability to deliver excellence at speed. Proactive and collaborative, able to multi-task and have a positive approach to feedback and changes.
- Be able to work consistent hours that overlap with USA east coast business hours.
Bonus:
- Basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere (or equivalents) will be very highly appreciated.
- Social media platforms management (Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, Medium, etc) is a plus.
