Lift Ventures, a remote-first startup studio whose portfolio of businesses has reached over 250 million consumers to date, is seeking a seasoned and talented Senior Product Designer for SuperSummary.com, our fast-growing EdTech business. SuperSummary is a subscription-based website offering a library of professionally written study guides and other educational resources on thousands of books for students, teachers, and readers of all types.
Over the last few years, we’ve built a market and user research process that has unearthed many product improvement insights (often through A/B testing and experimentation) and driven rapid growth. In this next phase, as the number of product innovation ideas increases, we are looking for a talented Senior Product Designer to continue to promote success through well-informed, well-executed product design that improves and enhances the user experience.
As a Junior Product Designer at SuperSummary, you will be instrumental in accelerating our pace of innovation through comprehensive research and exceptional design. As a member of our design team, you will be part of creating exceptional digital products for our users. You will be able to collaborate on the future of the experience on our digital platforms. You will have the opportunity to acquire and evolve your user research and design skills, which will help us build the brand and create effective and aesthetically pleasing products. This is a unique opportunity to be a key player on our design team and work closely with our product managers, engineers and leadership team throughout the entire product life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other Designers and Product Teams: Support in the creation of design solutions that align with the product vision, collaborating closely with lead and senior designers, product managers, and developers to ensure consistency and quality.
- User Research and Insights Gathering: Participate in user research sessions, helping to gather insights and feedback to inform design decisions. Assist in creating user personas, journey maps, and other user-centered design tools.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Create low-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes to explore design solutions. Iterate designs based on feedback from stakeholders and users.
- Visual Design Execution: Contribute to the development of visual design assets, including layouts, typography, color schemes, and iconography. Ensure that designs adhere to brand guidelines and enhance the user experience.
- Usability Testing: Assist in the planning and execution of usability tests, analyzing the results to identify areas for improvement in the product’s design.
- Design Documentation: Maintain and update design documentation, including style guides and design system components, ensuring that design specifications are clear and accessible for the development team.
- Learning and Development: Continuously improve design skills by seeking feedback, learning from senior designers, and staying up-to-date with industry trends and tools.
- Support Design Operations: Contribute to the organization of design resources, manage design files, and help streamline design processes within the team.
Sample Projects
- Colaborate with senior product designer to redesign the onboarding flow, creating high-fidelity prototypes for a design critique session and for user testing in new mobile app version
- Improve a existing feature, creating visual assets and adapting designs for different screen sizes
- Conduct a heuristic study to identify areas of improvement in an existing experience
- Lead a small project to design a new component in our study guide page
- Gather information from interviews and data to create research reports and support the team in project decisions

Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. Equivalent work experience and a strong portfolio may be considered in place of formal education.
- Experience working as a product designer (or UI/UX designer)
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience with User Experience and User Interface Design
- Knowledge of design fundamentals, including typography, color theory, layout, and user-centered design principles.
- Basic knowledge in creation and prototyping tools, such as Figma
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Near native level of written and spoken English proficiency required
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow within the role, including staying up-to-date with industry trends and seeking feedback for improvement.
