This is an affirmative position for women in Latin America.

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Junior Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team in our mission to make Rocket.Chat the most secure Enterprise communication platform for our millions of users. As a Junior Security Engineer at Rocket.Chat, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our communication platform. You will perform monitoring and Security Operation Center (SOC) functions, actively identifying and mitigating security threats, and assisting in the development and enhancement of our security processes and policies.

Mandatory Hard Skills 🎯

  • Advanced/Fluent English;
  • Ability to communicate clearly on technical issues;
  • Security Fundamentals: knowledge of the basic principles of systems, networks and application security;
  • Network Fundamentals: basic knowledge of network traffic and the most used protocols;
  • Log analysis: you should be able to analyze and correlate logs from different sources to spot security threats;
  • Knowledge of general-purpose programming languages such as Python, Go…

What You'll Do 🖥️

  • Be part of the SOC team, analyzing the security alerts generated by our sensors;
  • Participate in incident responses;
  • Search for new threats that couldn't be found by the current set of rules;
  • Support for bug bounty programs;
  • Perform access control activities;
  • Participate in forensic analysis;
  • Support the senior security engineers.
