This team within Store N°8 is reimagining how families shop and manage their households. They are hard at work designing new products that simplify the shopping experience and integrate naturally into a customer's routine.

Position Overview

The Conversational Commerce Design and Research team develops products that introduce conversational based shopping experiences to customers via Text, Voice, and more. Our team is committed to radically improving the lives of our customers by removing the burden of planning and shopping on people's everyday lives.

Folks on the team are word nerds and wordsmiths who thrive in making magic with words. This is a place to try new things and have fun while strengthening your skills. The role provides opportunities for creative and conceptual thinking. The Lead Copywriter will develop campaigns across Text and Voice experiences, adhere and champion the Walmart Brand and strengthen the character of the Shopping Assistant. The Lead Copywriter must be able to shift voice and tone to write for a range of scenarios ranging from clear to witty at times. The Lead Copywriter will collaborate with Conversation Designers in helping shape and evolve the Shopping Assistant to be more personalized and personable.

What you will do

  • Develop proactive campaigns for the Shopping Assistant
  • Develop copy for marketing materials including websites, ads, emails, and other digital and physical assets
  • Work closely with design, marketing, product, and other cross-functional partners
  • Contribute to cross-channel creative ideation
  • Maintain, adhere, and strengthen the Smart Assistant personality and character

What we expect

  • 7+ years of experience in creative writing, linguistics, social media, or relevant field
  • Ability to deliver on strategic initiatives while championing brand voice and direction
  • Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary thought partners
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to create and present strategic experiences that ladder up into business strategy, goals, and opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to be able to communicate to both technical and nontechnical savvy audience members
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure with little management
  • Experience working in an agile and/or lean environment
  • Consumer experience writing for digital or print a plus
  • Startup experience a plus

The annual salary range for this position is $144,000.00 to $216,000.00.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
