Lead Designer
Hasura is looking for a talented and motivated Product Designer to join our team in developing developer tools for GraphQL and data accessibility.
You will be responsible for leading design initiatives, defining user experiences, and shaping the future of our products as a key member of our design team, with a focus on developer experience and empowering developers to create great software. What the role will involve:
As a lead independent contributor, you must be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive project deliverables, and mentor other designers on your team as well as outside design agencies or vendors.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of developer requirements as well as a demonstrated ability to create user-centered designs. Strong leadership abilities, such as the ability to guide design efforts and navigate a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, are also required.
- Lead design initiatives for Hasura's developer tools, with a focus on providing developers with intuitive and visually appealing experiences.
- Conduct user testing and research to inform design decisions and ensure that our products meet the needs of our target audience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute the product vision, including product management and engineering.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for data-oriented applications.
- Effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders and team members.
- Participate in design review and feedback sessions to ensure that designs are consistent with the goals and vision of the team.
- Assist in the creation of Hasura's design system and style guide.
- Coach and mentor other designers on the team, sharing your knowledge and assisting them in furthering their skills and careers.
Requirements:
- You should have a strong background in visual design, interaction design, and user experience design, as well as an online portfolio showcasing your work.
- Figma or similar design tool proficiency, as well as the ability to prototype your designs for user feedback.
- Experience conducting user research, such as user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, and using the findings to inform design decisions.
- An understanding of software developers' needs and perspectives, as well as previous experience in software development and experience designing for this audience.
- Capability to design wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity web products.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, as well as the ability to simplify and intuitively translate complex concepts.
- Excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to articulate design decisions and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of software development processes and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure successful design implementation are required.
Location:
We hire across all states in the US. You can work remotely from anywhere in the US or in our office in San Francisco.
Compensation:
The compensation for this role ranges from $142,500 - $190,000 (including bonus) plus ESOPs
