This position requires 5+ years of experience and is ideal for developers with a high attention to detail looking to take a leadership role and expand their expertise. Responsibilities include coaching other developers, participating in code reviews, and helping define technical project requirements.

In your role as Lead Developer, you will be expected to:

  • Work with a team of developers, designers, and project managers
  • Take ownership of your projects
  • Provide coaching and leadership to other developers, including code reviews
  • Develop custom Drupal modules and themes and build Drupal websites
  • Select and debug Drupal contrib modules
  • Create documentation and write blog posts
  • Work with DevOps tools like Docker
  • Contribute to the technical community at Evolving Web and the larger open source community

Requirements

What kind of skills set do you need to be successful in your role within the Evolving community:

  • 5+ years of Drupal experience
  • Experience architecting large-scale Drupal projects and best practices for enterprise architecture
  • Understanding of software development practices
  • Experience integrating Drupal with third-party APIs
  • Experience working with SASS, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience with git and Composer based development workflows, pull requests and code reviews
  • Experience with performance profiling and optimization and database optimization
  • Understanding of security standards and compliance, including experience with breach mitigation
  • Experience using project management tools like Redmine or JIRA
  • Experience with writing unit and functional tests
  • Strong communication skills in English

Bonus for:

  • Experience with other web development platforms
  • Contributions to an open source project
  • Experience working with hosting platforms like Pantheon and Acquia
  • Demonstrated experience using Javascript frameworks or libraries like React, Vue.js, Angular or Bootstrap
