About the Role:

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join our engineering team. As a Lead Engineer, you will work closely with the wider engineering and product team to build our roadmap for GameOn’s portfolio of projects.

Our Tech Stack:

We run a distributed application with a mostly Golang backend and a Python admin, using Expo (a superset of React Native) for the frontend, Next.js (a superset of React) for the web app, minimal Node servers for blockchain, and managed Kubernetes on Digital Ocean for container orchestration.

The role:

  • Lead and mentor a team of developers to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of our tech stack, which includes: Django + Celery, Golang microservices, Postgres, RabbitMQ, Redis, managed Kubernetes on Digital Ocean.
  • Ensure seamless integration and functionality of all components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers and QA engineers.
  • Stay updated with industry trends to improve our product.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide updates.

Your background:

  • Proven experience as a Lead Developer or similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of Django, Celery, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Golang.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies and microservices.
  • Experience with real-time data processing and sports APIs.
  • Proficiency in using Swagger for API documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with mobile development using React Native and Expo. Bonus Points:
  • Experience with mobile app submission processes for app stores.
  • Knowledge of Firebase and Expo Notifications.
  • Prior experience in a startup environment.
  • Solidity and Web3 experience.
  • Passion for soccer and gaming.
