Lead Graphic Designer
Job Summary:
We are looking for a lead graphic designer multimedia specialist to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media. What is the role of a graphic designer? The graphic designer job description includes the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. You’ll be the one to shape the visual aspects of websites, books, magazines, product packaging, exhibitions and more. Your graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. The goal is to inspire and attract the target audience.
Essential Functions:
- Design and Development:
- Exercises creative judgment and originality by translating training presentation requirements into media asset capabilities
- Uses current technology and computer software packages to design, create, and modify 2D still and animated graphics, digital photographs/images, and video stills/clips
- Works with programmers to design multimedia assets that optimize run time and file size
- Produces artwork within technical and design parameters
- Adjusts and adapts designs in response to feedback and project evaluation
- Study design briefs and determine requirements
- Schedule projects and define budget constraints
- Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
- Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
- Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
- Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
- Work with copywriters and creative director to produce final design
- Test graphics across various media
- Amend designs after feedback
- Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
- Teamwork and Accountability:
- Works well in a team environment with others who have a passion for 2D art
- Establishes, maintains, and enhances relationships with internal creative resources and clients
- Participates in reviews and coordinates graphic development in a collaborative environment
- Collaborates with instructional designers, courseware developers, and quality assurance staff to deliver high-quality products

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 0900 - 1600. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:
Travel is not expected for this position.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Associate’s degree in Graphics, or similar discipline.
- 2+ years’ experience
- Experience with Adobe's Creative Suite including Photoshop and Illustrator
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite products
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Gaming, Graphics, or similar discipline.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire. Background checks- criminal, civil, employment, and education required. Drug screening in compliance with drug-free workplace standards. Ability to obtain a federal government clearance when required for projects.
